On Saturday I tagged along with Beverly and the rest of the UMBC Women’s Ultimate team as they attended a one day rookie tournament hosted by Maryland at their campus in College Park. I’ll cut to the chase, so if you don’t want to keep reading, the pictures are at http://www.jeremyweber.com/gallery/womensrookietourney. For a while I was the only male on the fields, until another guy showed up for one of the other teams. In total, I believe I saw three guys, including myself, within the fenced in region of the fields. Outside the fields was a different story as there were masses of fans tailgating for our tournament (or the Terp’s football game). As is my usual for going to a tournament that I’m not playing in, I brought the camera and tried to take lots of pictures. Somehow I ended up with many pictures of a few players, and none of others. I thought I did much better getting action shots of everyone last spring at the Secotionals tournament, but oh well. And somehow there’s no pictures of the end of the Towson game… it may have something to do with me falling asleep.
