Still waiting . . . (continued)

November 8th, 2006 @ 10.17 pm

Towards the end of October I still hadn’t received my dsl service from Cavalier.  They kept telling me it’d be a couple more days and then the circuit would be connected, and I’d be online.  Then on October 30th, 40 days after I called to get service and was told I could get it, I received a call from them informing me that they could not give me any dsl service at all.  Why you ask?  Because Verizon would not lease them any more circuits.  Do you think they would have made sure they could sell me dsl before selling it to me?  The only reason I signed up with them was to get their dsl service that looked great on paper.  As soon as I could I called Customer Care and cancelled both the dsl disservice and phone service, and asked for my money back.  I’ll see what they send me, but I’m going to complain if it’s anything less than the $125.25 I have paid them to this point.

What does one do when Verizon, who owns the phone lines, won’t lease them to Cavalier?  The only thing I see is I am forced to go to Verizon (I don’t want to pay Comcast’s price for cable internet alone).  So, I have signed up for their service, paid stupid fees, and have been told I will have service on November 17th.

Anyone want to make a bet on whether or not I’ll get dsl service before 2007?  My bet is that I won’t.

I am Jeremy
