Really Long Range Snow Forecast
February 13th, 2007 @ 4.12 pm
Last fall I predicted that we wouldn’t get much snow this winter, and so far I’ve been right, even though it’s “mixed precipitation” outside right now. Even though early predictions of this storm had us getting hammered, the forecast changed, and we’re getting mostly sleet, freezing rain, etc. along with minimal snow. So here goes with my predictions that I want to write down so a year from now I can say “I told you so.”
1. This storm will be our last “winter event” of this winter. The total accumulation of this event with previous events should top our around 5″ or so, which is “not much” in my book.
2. Next winter (2007-2008) I predict we will get one really big snowfall of greater that 12″. I also going to predict that we get a total of three snow falls of near 6″ or more, including the biggie.
Will I be right? Wait till next spring to find out!
