Life goes fast

I’ve probably said it before in an older post, but I’ll reiterate it: time flies. I’m sure you know the saying that time flies when you’re having fun, but this past year (is it over already?) I’ve really noticed that it doesn’t matter whether you’re having fun or not; time flies. And it seems to be flying faster every day.
Since my last posting that was way too long ago, a lot has happened. The Ravens beat the Redskins, Christmas came and went, and I finished my Photo-A-Day gallery. I even gave you five bonus pictures that I had not previously published to make up for the five days I didn’t post any picture during the year. So is that really a bonus? Oh well, just accept it as a bonus and be happy.
On the house shopping front, Beverly and I have been seeing some houses with a realtor, but are having mixed feelings – there are some houses we’re interested in, but the amount of house we can buy for around $300k is a lot less than what we see at $400k, which is simply too much money for us to spend. And call me crazy, but we both would really like a single family house that has enough room to sneeze without covering our neighbors mouth, and I really want to have a garage where I can safetly store and work on my VW (I’ll even settle for space to build one!) And what will the housing market do over the next couple of years? Will it fall apart (it’s come down some in our county, but not much), or will it hold steady? Just six years ago I thought a quarter million dollars for a house was a lot of money, but today that can only buy a bulldozer grade tear-downer.
On a sadder note, my grandmother died on January 4th. It was bitter sweet as her health was failing, but she was increadibly happy to have seen every single child, grandchild, their wives and even the one year old great-grandchild of hers on Christmas day. During the viewings on Thursday and Friday I had a chance to meet and talk to many of her friends, many of them I’d only heard about before. I still have two grandfathers left, and I hope I can find some time this year to spend with them.
