I should be banned from cooking

April 13th, 2008 @ 9.26 pm

This evening I volunteered to make dinner, and what a mistake that was. First, I tend towards the one pot style meals. Things such as Hamburger Helper, or “stir fry.” I have to put “stir fry” in quotation marks, because who knows what I’ll make, but it generally tends towards chicken, vegetables, soy sauce and white rice on the side. Tonight I looked through the fridge and freezer, and found a pound of chicken, a bag of frozen bell peppers (pre sliced, ready to serve… after thawing), and a tub of leftover rice. So, from there I started out making a scrambled egg, then cooked the chicken in some veggie oil, and sesame seeds. Not too un-normal at this point. Read the rest of this entry »

When it rains, it snows

March 5th, 2008 @ 12.21 am

Right now life is really serving up lemons. Last week I ended the week in Zebulon, NC, and while I was away my parent’s house was broken into. On Friday I got back to the office at 5pm and spent a couple hours getting ready to fly out to Indianapolis on Monday morning. After a very short weekend (literally), I’m now in Indianapolis and it’s Tuesday night. While I’m stuck here, Beverly’s new (2003) Jetta broke down. It seems like the alternator died today, but I’m hundreds of miles away and can’t do anything, again. Luckily she was near her parents house and with friends, but now she’s borrowing a car from her parents. Rather than me being able to comfort her or look at the car and try to fix it, I can’t. I feel completely useless.

And normally I like snow, but I’m just tired of winter, but there’s about an inch of slush on the ground here. Before the slush was rain that’s been falling since the plane landed yesterday morning. When it rains, it snows. I guess I need to make a snowman?

Snow? Maybe? Please?

February 23rd, 2008 @ 10.11 pm

A year or so ago I predicted that we’d get a lot of snow this winter. (Really Long Range Snow Forecast). So far, I’ve been dead wrong. So far we’ve had a total of 8.35″ of snow according to RelayWeather.com. The largest snowfall was 5″ back in December, which was a nice start, but there hasn’t been any follow up. I’m tired of the news saying there’s a chance of some snow in the forecast when all it amounts to is an inch or less. That’s not snow! I wan’t at least a foot, and 18″ would be great. Something that closes work and makes driving impossible (or really fun, depending on how much of a challenge you like).

No Updates for a Month?!

February 10th, 2008 @ 7.19 pm

First, I must say I’m sorry. I’ve been meaning to write something for a month now, and almost have, but haven’t. This month has been rather busy but rather mundane all at the same time. I’ve been out to Indy to begin the startup of the machine I’ve been the project manager for the past year on, so that was exciting. I also went to Philadelphia and Cincinnati on jobs. Watched that big game (with a trademarked name), and finally washed and waxed the truck.

I have been keeping up with the Photo-A-Day project I’ve been doing, although a bunch of the pictures are results of “it’s 10pm, I haven’t taken a picture yet, what is nearby?” I knew there’d be many of those, and I’m trying to not repeat the same subject, but it’s not easy… especially with how many nights I spend in hotels. If you’re thinking “why doesn’t Jeremy go outside the hotel and find something fun?” I’ll say that after getting off work, getting some dinner and catching up on all the emails for work that I missed, it’s often rather late and I’d be going out in the dark just to take a picture of who knows what. Hopefully spring will bring more daylight, warmer air, and better pictures.

Merry Christmas

December 30th, 2007 @ 8.04 pm

My new squarebackThis year Beverly and I spent our first Christmas together as a married couple (say “awww, how cute…”). I really didn’t want much, but she knew just what to get me. Not only did she get me a 50mm f1/8 lens for my camera, she also got me a flash and a new car! I took the photo of the car using the new camera equipment, just because I can. On Christmas day we spent some time here at the condo, and then late in the morning headed down to Anne Arundel County to see my family at my grandfathers, and then to see Beverly’s family and friends in Arnold.

Before Christmas day we saw Beverly’s extended family. First, it was the Kremann’s on the 16th, and then the Yu’s in North Carolina over the 22nd - 23rd. It was a long drive, but it was nice to see everyone in one place and to see the Zeisemer’s house finally. If you’re reading this and wondering when you can see the pictures I took while in North Carolina, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. I want to put the full size pictures up so the family can download them easily, but I currently am having web host issues preventing me from FTP’ing into my own account, and they haven’t been responding to my phone messages or emails.

As the new year approaches, Beverly and I aren’t 100% sure what we’re going to do for New Years, but we’ll have some fun, and we’ll see what 2008 brings.

Wedding Pictures

December 16th, 2007 @ 8.45 pm

Previously the wedding pictures could be seen on a SmugMug.com set of galleries, but due to some technical problems a whole new website has been set up to view the pictures from the wedding. They can all be found at http://davidhartcorn.com/darkroom/proof/?client/beverlyjeremy. The pictures were taken by David Hartcorn and his assistants.

For ordering copies of pictures, you should ask Beverly or Jeremy - they will have full size digital copies of everything. The ordering portion of the website does work, but if you try to order through the website, you will see all prices are set to $0.01.

I am Jeremy

Come, have a look around. Take your shoes off. Enjoy. Read through my rantings and ravings, or see the latest photos from last weeks car show/ ultimate tournament.
