Maddness that was Memorial Day Weekend

May 30th, 2007 @ 11.12 pm

When I think of Memorial Day, I think of BBQ’s and relaxing in the back yard. Well, I did have some grilled food, but in other’s back yards. First, Beverly graduated on Thursday (Congratulations Beverly! Pictures are in the gallery), and that in turn led to graduation parties. But before them, I had Friday to get through. I went to my parents house with plans to do some tweaking to the VW and wash it, but instead my grandfather hurt himself and then drove to Walter Reed’s ER. So, my mom and I went down there, spent some time with him, and then drove him home. Turns out he bruised his chest and dislocated his little finger, so a bit painful, but nothing too serious. Outdated already

November 19th, 2006 @ 8.03 pm

Last summer I got my D50 with the kit 18-55mm lens, and then around New Years I purchased a 70-300mm lens so I could do some Ultimate photography.  On Monday I was talking with a potential wedding photographer and he mentioned the new D40, which I hadn’t heard of yet, and I already knew about the D80, all from Nikon.  The D40 has a msrp of what the D50 can be purchased at now, and it doesn’t have all the features even my camera has, but it’s still great for the soccer mom who wants more than a point and shoot.  The D80, priced a bit higher than my camera was when I got it looks a bit nicer than mine, but nothing I’m going to shell out some cash to upgrade to.  I’ll wait a few more years before I do that, I love my D50 so much, even if it isn’t a “pro” camera.  When I do finally upgrade, I’ll probably be looking in the upper end of the consumer dslr’s, or the lower end pro models, but that won’t be for a while unless Beverly finds a good use for a dslr of her own (She does seem to be using it more than me at recent sporting events…). Beverly took a bunch of of photo’s at the Homecoming Rugby games last Saturday, so I went through them and put some of them in her own section in the gallery. The link to her album is www.jeremyweber.com/gallery/beverly, and from there you can access the rugby pictures.

Women’s Rookie Tournament

September 24th, 2006 @ 10.26 pm

On Saturday I tagged along with Beverly and the rest of the UMBC Women’s Ultimate team as they attended a one day rookie tournament hosted by Maryland at their campus in College Park. I’ll cut to the chase, so if you don’t want to keep reading, the pictures are at http://www.jeremyweber.com/gallery/womensrookietourney. For a while I was the only male on the fields, until another guy showed up for one of the other teams. In total, I believe I saw three guys, including myself, within the fenced in region of the fields. Read the rest of this entry »

Summer cruise in fun

August 16th, 2006 @ 12.32 am

For only the second time this summer I had the opportunity to drive over to the local cruise in at Home Depot in Eldersburg. With such wonderful weather, the turnout was fairly large with a good selection of cars. For a while I was the only German car, and one of two imports (the other being a Datsun 240Z), but eventually three Porsche 911’s showed up (seperately). The VW ran great as my dad and I cruised over, and I had a great time walking around and snapping a few photos (see the gallery for the new album). Read the rest of this entry »

Pictures, pictures, and more pictures

July 16th, 2006 @ 5.29 pm

I just finished the final touches on the pictures from the Mingle Over Maryland tournament and uploaded them to the gallery. Now, I still have pictures from the fireworks on the 4th to work on, and now a bunch that I took at Donnie and Melanie’s wedding last night that I’ll try to get online as well. If only sorting, editing, and uploading the pictures was as easy as shooting them. Oh well, I can’t complain. I enjoy taking the pictures so I can share them with ya’ll.

Speaking of sharing pictures, if anyone wants any picture full size (or any size), just ask. I may be able to print it out, or give you the full size version, or we can have it printed, etc. Read the rest of this entry »
