Summer cruise in fun

August 16th, 2006 @ 12.32 am

For only the second time this summer I had the opportunity to drive over to the local cruise in at Home Depot in Eldersburg. With such wonderful weather, the turnout was fairly large with a good selection of cars. For a while I was the only German car, and one of two imports (the other being a Datsun 240Z), but eventually three Porsche 911’s showed up (seperately). The VW ran great as my dad and I cruised over, and I had a great time walking around and snapping a few photos (see the gallery for the new album). Read the rest of this entry »

Pictures, pictures, and more pictures

July 16th, 2006 @ 5.29 pm

I just finished the final touches on the pictures from the Mingle Over Maryland tournament and uploaded them to the gallery. Now, I still have pictures from the fireworks on the 4th to work on, and now a bunch that I took at Donnie and Melanie’s wedding last night that I’ll try to get online as well. If only sorting, editing, and uploading the pictures was as easy as shooting them. Oh well, I can’t complain. I enjoy taking the pictures so I can share them with ya’ll.

Speaking of sharing pictures, if anyone wants any picture full size (or any size), just ask. I may be able to print it out, or give you the full size version, or we can have it printed, etc. Read the rest of this entry »

what a weekend

July 10th, 2006 @ 7.35 am

This past weekend Beverly and I played with a bunch of mostly UMBC’ers in the first Mingle Over Maryland tournament hosted by Mingle Over Muffins (MOM). On the first day we started out losing to Bond, then played SOBO for our first victory, had a long break where many of us ate lunch, then played a close game where we ended up losing to MOM, and then finally ended the day with a big comeback push beating Fission. That left us at 2-2 for the day.  Sunday we started off losing to Mothers (I think that’s who it was), then beat Mothership Connection (no connection to Mothers), and finally lost in the Chumpionship game to MOM in a game to the high score of seven. I took some pictures (along with Beverly and one by Tom Petitt using my camera), and I’ll try to get some online within a week, so stay tuned to your favorite bat channel. PR pictures and other stuff

May 31st, 2006 @ 10.59 pm

First, I have gone through my pictures from Puerto Rico and put the best 37 in the gallery.

Next, this past weekend was a bunch of fun. On Saturday I went home to work on my bike and VW, and even stopped by a local car show. Later that day Beverly and I went down to E-town and stopped by Katie Laskowski’s for a few moments at her graduation party (she used to be my next door neighbor), and then went over to Jared Nave’s to celebrate his 21st birthday. Sunday I didn’t do much, but on Monday I finally took Beverly kayaking. Read the rest of this entry »

Kinetic Sculpture Race

May 7th, 2006 @ 8.42 pm

Yesterday (Saturday May 6th, 2006) I dragged Beverly over to Federal Hill to see the start of the Baltimore Kinetic Sculpture Race put on by the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM). I’d never been, but this year Whit was the mechanical expert in building a sculpture along with some other students from UMBC, so I thought it’d be a fun day with some wacky creations. With artists creating most of the entrants, there were many unique and/ or beautiful vehicles, and all but one or two with very questionable engineering. Luckily, all vehicles must prove they have working brakes, as well as life jackets and helmets for all drivers. Pictures are at http://www.jeremyweber.com/gallery/kinetic06 Read the rest of this entry »
