Greetings from Puerto Rico!

May 17th, 2006 @ 6.21 pm

As I write this I’m sitting in the hotel lobby at the Embassy Suites in Dorado, Puerto Rico.  I flew in Monday morning for a startup of a machine our company is installing at a local plant down here.  During the day I’m working in a construction zone with spanish everywhere as my coworker and I are the only ones who don’t speak spanish, but we’re getting along, albeit being a bit sweaty as it’s constantly 85 degrees and 90% humidity.  Oh well, it could be worse, I won’t complain about being sent to a tropical island for two weeks.  And yes, the photo’s on the website are accurate, and I’ll try to post some of my own when I return. What does it mean to be an engineer?

December 22nd, 2005 @ 10.41 pm

Sometimes I wonder. I don’t question my choice of being an engineer at all, but I do question where my life is going. Do I want to do architectural engineering my whole life? If not, how do I get a job doing something else without experience? Where would another position lead me to? Would I want to take that path? Sometimes I get glimpses that tell me God has a plan for me, but I have no clue what it is. Read the rest of this entry »
