as the vw breaks…

In this next installment of As the VW Breaks, we’ll find out the horror, but be relieved that it is driveable again, just as some snow/ super cold air moves in. For the past month or so the brakes were acting erratic: they wouldn’t stay pumped up, but rather my foot would go nearly to the floor, most of the time. Then occasionally they would work normally. So not knowing what else could cause such a problem since the whole braking system is so simple, I replaced the master cylinder with a new German one, and adjusted the brakes. So far so good, though I think I could adjust the front brakes a little tighter still, but it goes (and stops). Also, I filled the tank, so it has gas (at least for the next 200 miles). Hopefully if you see me, you may see my real car (not that practical neon I’m putting 300+ miles a week onto).
