I am blessed

December 25th, 2006 @ 9.55 pm

This Christmas Beverly and I were able to spend Christmas with nearly every relative both of us have together, which has meant for a long weekend. First, on Saturday we went to her parents house for Christmas with her dad’s side of the family, then on Sunday it was most of the day at my parents house where we saw my whole family (less an aunt and uncle in Texas, and my cousin and his wife). Then, around 5pm we headed down to Arnold again for the Christmas Eve service at her church (BEP), and then back to her parent’s house to open presents for just the six of us (yes, I was included with them). Finally, on the third day of Christmas (today, the 25th) I went back to Beverly’s house to celebrate with her mom’s side of the family. It has been a long three days just in the time spent with families and amount of driving, but I am very blessed to have so much of a wonderful family to spend time with. How’s life treating you?

December 4th, 2006 @ 11.28 pm

I keep posting about the struggles in my life, or some event that I photographed. But there’s much more to my life than suffering without the internet and taking pictures. I love spending time with Beverly, I look forward to worshiping at her home church, and I wish I would motivate myself to get outside and go for a run. I enjoy my job, even though I’m still very much learning what I need to do on a daily basis. And of course I have a bipolar-like love/ hate relationship with my VW, depending on if it’s working right or not.

But what about you? Who reads this website? I know many people from the frisbee team have stopped by to check out the latest pics, but do they keep coming back? Do friends that I rarely see stop by to see what I’m up to? I know Beverly checks it out, and I visit often, but I know we’re not the only ones. Go ahead and post a comment. Say hi. Write down your life story, or just a blurb about the guy in the cubicle across from you. I’m curious to see how many people will actually reply. I double dog dare you! (That means you have to now)

Finally Back Online

December 1st, 2006 @ 1.42 am

It’s been a long 2.5 months, but I’m finally back online for real. In the middle of September Verizon cut off the dsl at the townhouse due to a billing issue, and then I moved out before that was resolved. I did sign up for phone and dsl from Cavalier on September 20th so it would be ready when I moved to the condo on October 1st, but it wasn’t to be. The phone worked by October 2nd, and then I called tech support about the dsl. And I called some more. And I finally received two (yes, two) modems. And I called some more. And finally while I was down in Puerto Rico for the week they called me to tell me they cannot provide me with dsl at all because Verizon will not lease the lines to them. So, angry at Cavalier (who I still have not gotten my money back from), I cancelled everything asap and took my business to Verizon since they owned the lines. Read the rest of this entry »

Outdated already

November 19th, 2006 @ 8.03 pm

Last summer I got my D50 with the kit 18-55mm lens, and then around New Years I purchased a 70-300mm lens so I could do some Ultimate photography.  On Monday I was talking with a potential wedding photographer and he mentioned the new D40, which I hadn’t heard of yet, and I already knew about the D80, all from Nikon.  The D40 has a msrp of what the D50 can be purchased at now, and it doesn’t have all the features even my camera has, but it’s still great for the soccer mom who wants more than a point and shoot.  The D80, priced a bit higher than my camera was when I got it looks a bit nicer than mine, but nothing I’m going to shell out some cash to upgrade to.  I’ll wait a few more years before I do that, I love my D50 so much, even if it isn’t a “pro” camera.  When I do finally upgrade, I’ll probably be looking in the upper end of the consumer dslr’s, or the lower end pro models, but that won’t be for a while unless Beverly finds a good use for a dslr of her own (She does seem to be using it more than me at recent sporting events…). Still waiting . . . (continued)

November 8th, 2006 @ 10.17 pm

Towards the end of October I still hadn’t received my dsl service from Cavalier.  They kept telling me it’d be a couple more days and then the circuit would be connected, and I’d be online.  Then on October 30th, 40 days after I called to get service and was told I could get it, I received a call from them informing me that they could not give me any dsl service at all.  Why you ask?  Read the rest of this entry »

Beverly took a bunch of of photo’s at the Homecoming Rugby games last Saturday, so I went through them and put some of them in her own section in the gallery. The link to her album is www.jeremyweber.com/gallery/beverly, and from there you can access the rugby pictures.
