Catching up with posting

July 20th, 2008 @ 11.54 pm

Ok, so I haven’t made a real post since the first half of May, and it’s already the second half of July. You could say I’ve been busy. Between May 30 and June 30 I crossed the San Francisco bridge, went to the top of the Seattle Space Needle, took a quick photo of Stonehenge, and rode to the top of the St Louis Gateway Arch. Is that a lot of famous landmarks or what? I feel like the only things I’m missing from that list are the Great Wall in China and the Sydney Opera House.

Part of the travel was from a vacation Beverly and I took out to the west coast. We used all my frequent flier miles/ points to cover most of a vacation driving from San Francisco to Seattle over six days. It was a huge blast, and once I ever get the photo’s edited, I’ll put them online for you to enjoy. Read the rest of this entry »

Wedding Album Online

June 15th, 2008 @ 9.04 pm

About a month ago we received our finished, printed wedding album, and it’s really great. I know Beverly’s shared it with everyone. I’m sorry to you co-workers of hers that had to suffer through it, she was really excited. For those of you that haven’t been over to our place to see it in person, you’re in luck. Our wedding photographer, David Hartcorn created an online version of the album that everyone can view. Email not working

May 13th, 2008 @ 10.45 pm

*UPDATE* (5-15-08, 12:00pm) I think it’s working again. I’ve been to email to/ from my jeremyweber.com account from any other email address I have control of. I’ve also gotten emails from several other people, so I believe it is working properly again.

Recently the company hosting my website made a bunch of upgrades to their servers, including the email client. What that means, is my email account is occasionally working. When emailing myself at other accounts of mine (work, Hotmail), I have received my emails some of the time. And same goes for receiving on my jeremyweber.com email account. So, if you have emailed at any time since May 7th, please resend the email to another one of my email addresses - I probably didn’t get it. I will update this post once I start to receive emails as expected, but until then good luck.

Easy to keep going, hard to get running right

May 10th, 2008 @ 5.12 pm

This past month I’ve had both my truck and my VW at the condo, which has let me drive it a fair amount. Luckily, I haven’t had any break downs, but the car hasn’t been without hiccups. I spent one evening changing the camber of the front wheels after noticing uneven wear on the tires. I’ve also noticed it’s still throwing oil all over the engine bay after running on the highway for several miles, which I don’t like. Per recommendation of others, last night I changed to 20W50 oil instead of 10W30, hoping the thicker oil will encourage it to stay inside the engine, where it belongs. Last night I also was going to replace a seal where the excess/ reserve brake fluid flows into the master cylinder because it’s slowly leaking. Unfortunately, the shop gave Whit the wrong part, so I’m still left topping off my brake fluid reservoir every month (don’t worry, it’s not dangerous! I know what I’m doing!). Hopefully I’ll be able to get the new seal soon, and my oil leaks will stop. If not, I’ll just have to keep digging…

Where the world is going

April 29th, 2008 @ 8.40 pm

Ever read the news? I don’t often because it’s so gloomy. Three murders, a robbery, global warming, rain in the forecast, and the stock market is down. I try not to pay much mind to what news I do hear, but all the recent news about our economy having a tough time is making me worry some. I see that our nation has been outspending one another and gotten into a big financial hole, and rather than fixing the mess, we think we can just walk away. I think it’s starting to catch up with us, and unfortunately it will hit everyone, including those that have followed good financial responsibility. Unfortunately, I fall into that category (or at least I would like to think I do). Read the rest of this entry »

I should be banned from cooking

April 13th, 2008 @ 9.26 pm

This evening I volunteered to make dinner, and what a mistake that was. First, I tend towards the one pot style meals. Things such as Hamburger Helper, or “stir fry.” I have to put “stir fry” in quotation marks, because who knows what I’ll make, but it generally tends towards chicken, vegetables, soy sauce and white rice on the side. Tonight I looked through the fridge and freezer, and found a pound of chicken, a bag of frozen bell peppers (pre sliced, ready to serve… after thawing), and a tub of leftover rice. So, from there I started out making a scrambled egg, then cooked the chicken in some veggie oil, and sesame seeds. Not too un-normal at this point. Read the rest of this entry »
