The two small thumbnail sized pictures of eating crabs were taken by me in August 2005. The publication is a brochure for the Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Programs at UMBC, published in January 2006. The original picture featured (L to R) Abby, Eileen, and Beverly, but they cropped Beverly out. My theory is because there was a prominent "Old Bay" brand name container showing on a can on the table, and they didn't want to get permission to publish that name.
The pictures were taken during a crab feast we had because Abby is from Chicago and never had crabs before, and it was awesome summer weather. The pictures were originally shared with UMBC for a slideshow covering what students did in various programs over the summer, and the guy who compiled that also had a hand in the brochure and asked to use my pictures. |
