Jeremy WeberName: Jeremy Weber
AIM: ymerejrebew
Hometown: Born in Towson, MD, lived nearby from 1982-1991. Lived in Walksersville, MD from 1991-1993. Lived in Easton, MD from 1993-2002. Lived in Sykesville, MD with the parents till March 2006. Then moved to Arbutus till the end of September 2006, and moved into a condo owned by the DiPompeo’s in Ellicott City in October 2006. Bought a house in Ellicott City in March 2009.

Education

College!: BSE in Mechanical Engineering from UMBC in 2004. I could often be found barefoot or wearing sandals in the winter, asleep in class, pulling all nighters (my record was 42 hours awake in a row, as well as 4 all nighters in 6 days), playing Ultimate, working on the Mini Baja, watching Smallville, maybe some mt. biking, and falling in love with Beverly. High School: Easton High School class of 2000. While in HS I ran cross country, indoor & outdoor track, played Ultimate, and wasn’t in the FFA. I also was a part of Talbot Bible Church’s youth group where I made some great friends that I now miss. I still see a couple people from Easton, but mostly I wonder where in the world everyone else went to as the one’s I have contact with are scattered around the country.

After Graduation

I currently work for GEA Pharma Systems (formerly Niro Inc.). In June 2008 I moved from the Technical Support group to the Project Engineering group, and haven’t been traveling nearly as much. As of February 2009 to the Process Development group.

Previously, I was working as an engineer for L2M Engineers, a MEP engineering company that was joined with L2M Architects and L2M Food Service Design Group. The company was started in August 2004, and I was the second employee when I started in late September 2004. Most of our projects were smaller stores and restaurants of all sizes where we work with the Architects & Food Service to design the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Since I left in 2006, the Engineering part of the company has dissolved, but the rest is going strong.

Bio

So, I’m just your average nut of an engineer. I look at something and immediately try to figure out how it works, why it’s not working right, or make it work better. When you hear a rattle, I “see” a loose screw (besides the one in my head). I tried (and succeeded for a couple months) to daily drive a car from 1965 that has 80 horsepower on a good day, has no power steering or brakes, an engine with a personality, and a rough unpredictable suspension. It keeps breaking down in weird ways, but I still haven’t given up on it. Maybe one day I’ll get it reliable enough to call a weekend cruiser. More details can be found in the Beetle section.

Several years ago I discovered my dad’s old photography equipment, consisting of two fully manual Minolta SLR cameras, and a few lenses. I used them to learn some photography, but found that I wasn’t learning much because I would take pictures, and then not develop them for months, which didn’t allow me to remember how I set up a picture. I purchased a Nikon D50 DSLR in 2006 and am taking pictures far superior to what I was able to produce before, and love seeing the world in a whole new light. Now I just need to build up a lens arsenal.

I’m an Ultimate player. I started playing Ultimate in high school with a bunch of friends. Many of us went on the play at the collegiate and club levels. I took my (lack of) skills to UMBC, where I played for another four years. I now toss the disc occasionally and should play in summer league and other places more than I do.

When I can, I try to get outside on my bike. I love mountain biking, and am blessed to have multiple areas of Patapsco State Park nearby to ride in. I’ve been riding my Gary Fisher Marlin since 1998, and before that I had several toy store bikes. I’m told I was riding a two wheeler without training wheels when I was just two or three years old, and I spent most of my childhood riding my bike, so I’d say it comes naturally to me.

Finally, I’m in love with Beverly. This part would go first, but you’d get really bored reading everything, so it’s last just to spare you. We met just as school started during her freshman and my senior year. Since that day, she’s been an amazing part of my life. For the rest of the mushy story, go to the Beverly section.
